I’ll be playing at a flea market at Dataran Shah Alam tomorrow, so do come support! I’ll be playing my new material, so if you’ve missed my previous gigs, you can come listen to them on Sunday! The performances are from 4-5pm, and I’ll be doing 3 songs. There’ll be other stuff to do (like shop) since it’s a flea market. Haha.
So now I’ve pretty much settled back into my ‘normal’ life at home (with internet), I have time to sit down and write again. Oh its 2.44 am and I should be in bed, but I’m not tired. And it’s been a long time since I’ve written something meaningful and worth reading, and I’m not doing anything productive at the moment, so I might as well start.
You know, sometimes- no wait, a lot of times the journey to someplace is more fun than when you arrive at the destination itself. Long road trips in cars with friends (and sometimes people that you’ve just met) are some of the most interesting experiences you can have. All sorts of crazy conversation topics come up (i.e. if your dad is dying and the only way for him to survive is for him to fuck you- in the ass, would you save him?), and once in awhile you get random confessions out of the blue (no I’m not typing any here!). But yeah, people come up with pretty much anything just to kill the silence.
Then you have the smelling game. Once in awhile somebody will smell a fart. And the blame is passed around. Sometimes you’ll smell something good when the windows are open. Sometimes its the smell of rubbish. Fried chicken (why do we always smell KFC?!). Fresh air.
Then you have people sleeping. Making faces in their sleep, drooling, snoring and muttering to themselves. Suddenly waking up, yelling something and then falling asleep again. Taking photographs of them in funny poses. Waking them up.
Getting lost on the way. Wrong turns in the middle of the night, with the fuel gauge low and patience wearing thin. Driving with the need to use the toilet. Especially when you just passed the rest stop 10 minutes ago. Ghost stories. Jokes. Reminiscing about the past. Talking about what you’re going to do once you reach there. Spotting weird/stupid bumper stickers and ads. Laughing at rice. Jokes about getting kidnapped and sold as slaves/prostitutes. Singing along to your favorite songs.
Trips to the airport and sending people off suck though. Especially once you reach the airport, and you send that person off. The holding back of tears, the long goodbyes. And then the long ride back home.
So Jason got his new phone and we decided to test its video taking capabilities. Here’s a preview (well its the whole song really lol) of my latest song that will be the title track of my upcoming EP. I’ll be performing this at the next doppelganger, so if you like it, come check it out!
This coming February, we proudly present you the infamous Rafique Rashid, An Honest Mistake and also Chad Blondel from Perth, Australia. We’ll also be filming this edition of Doppelganger so do bring your buddies and be a part of the scene ya.

After almost 2 months, my internet is finally working again!
Spent the last few nights just downloading stuff and playing dota and basically abusing my internet haha. Finally I’m taking the time to sit down and blog. And my hand phone is running out of space to store messages, so I shall start by writing those.
I just realized that local movies can’t show couples cheating. lol
I don’t know how true this is, but I’m pretty sure local movies with muslim characters can’t be shown cheating cos its wrong? Like how you can’t show them eating pork or drinking.. I don’t know. Just a random thought. haha
I realized how flawed the statement “You weren’t hungry a minute ago!” is
You know when you guys are on a long journey and a few people decide to eat at a rest stop, and you don’t eat cos you’re not hungry. But then about 10 minutes after you leave, you feel hungry, and people say that to you? And then you feel bad cos you think to yourself “I should have eaten with them!”. Think about it again- how do you know when you are going to get hungry or how long you’ll stay full? There’s no meter or gauge that you can read to tell you the status of your stomach! And what if ‘a minute ago’ was the point just before you turned hungry again? Exactly.
Today the lrt said bangsar just before we reached kl central (lrt was going towards kelana jaya, so central was first). I don’t know how often these errors happen, but it was pretty cool. When it was going to bangsar from kl central, it didn’t say anything, and it went back on track after bangsar. Maybe I experienced a once in a life time thing. Or maybe it was a warning from God, and that I should have gotten off one stop earlier.
Maybe I missed the turning point of my life. What is the turning point in someone’s life anyway? Isn’t every decision someone makes a turning point in their life? Every single decision from the tiniest ones like putting out a cigarette properly to big ones like deciding to drive after drinking alot of alcohol- it all affects your life. In the short or long run, everything has consequences.
How has life been? Well, besides the usual (work etc) I’ve been pretty much annoying everyone in the office to death playing my new song on the guitar everyday for the past week. I’m still working on the lyrics and music..will probably try it out at my next performance (don’t know when that is yet). And I can’t wait for you guys to hear it 😀 as for the EP, I’ll probably have to delay it til next month or later (due to financial issues..any sponsors out there? lol). In the meantime I’m still doing shows (anybody needs an acoustic solo act who does originals, please contact me!) and writing.
